How to Apply for a Student Visa

Applying for a Student Visa is simple when you understand the process.
Follow these 6 steps to prepare your application correctly and avoid common mistakes.
  • Before starting your application, define your study plan and goal in Australia.
Decide on your field of study, preferred city, and long-term direction — whether your focus is improving English, gaining a qualification, or preparing for future migration opportunities.

💡 A clear goal helps you choose the right course and education provider.

  • Select a program from a CRICOS-registered institution, as this is a mandatory requirement for a Student Visa (Subclass 500).
After your course selection, you will receive a Letter of Offer outlining your course duration, tuition fees, and study schedule.

📘 You can also consider packaged programs — for example, English + Diploma — which provide longer visa validity and stronger migration pathways.

  • Complete our consultation form to provide your academic background and visa history.
This allows our MARA-registered agent to evaluate your eligibility and recommend the best visa strategy.

🧾 We’ll assist you in choosing the right course and preparing documents that meet Department of Home Affairs standards.

  • Once you accept your offer and pay the required tuition deposit, your school will issue a CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment).
This document officially confirms your enrolment and is required for your visa application.

📅 Make sure your CoE dates match your intended travel and visa period.

  • Gather all the necessary documents for your visa application:

    • GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) statement

    • Financial proof (bank statement or sponsor letter)

    • English test result (if required)

    • OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover) certificate

After submitting your documents and paying your initial tuition, your enrolment will be finalised.

💳 Our MARA-registered team can check your documents for accuracy before submission.

  • Submit your visa application online through ImmiAccount on the Department of Home Affairs website.
Include your CoE, GTE, OSHC, and all supporting documents.
Once your visa is approved, you’ll receive a Visa Grant Notice, allowing you to begin your studies in Australia.

🎓 Congratulations — you’re ready to start your Australian education journey!

Understanding the Australian Visa System

Australia offers a wide range of visa options for international students, professionals, and visitors. Each visa type has a specific purpose — whether it’s to study, work, train, or simply experience life in Australia.

For students, the most common and accessible option is the Student Visa (Subclass 500), which allows you to study full-time in a CRICOS-registered course while living in Australia. This visa also gives you the opportunity to work part-time during your studies, helping you gain both educational and professional experience.

After completing your studies, you may be eligible for other visa types such as the Graduate (Subclass 485) or Training (Subclass 408) visa, depending on your qualification and future goals. These options let you continue to develop skills and experience within Australia through legal and structured migration pathways.

All visa applications are assessed by the Department of Home Affairs.
